Why did you choose your particular specialty?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I chose plastic surgery because it calls upon the possession of robust operative skills that are applied across a very diverse array of tissue types – from bone to skin.\u00a0 It is unique in that it requires demonstration of creative talent to enable surgical moulding into a functional and aesthetically-desirable state.<\/p>\n

What do you enjoy most about your job?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Being part of my patients\u2019 journey towards recovery and rehabilitation; I find it fascinating to see wound healing occurring in front of my eyes and the psyche recuperating following traumatic events in an individual\u2019s life.<\/p>\n

What one thing do you wish every member of the public knew?<\/strong><\/p>\n

The overwhelming majority of doctors represent a highly-trained and dedicated group of professionals, who treat patients in the same way they would their immediate family.\u00a0 We are passionate about making a meaningful difference.<\/p>\n

What three traits define you?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Caring, passionate, thorough.<\/p>\n

Who is your inspiration?<\/strong><\/p>\n

My immediate family – parents and sister for providing me with the most tender upbringing, a healthy dash of realism and unlimited zest for life.<\/p>\n

What accomplishment in your life are you most proud of?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Building a deeply satisfying clinical academic career in plastic surgery, which allows me to combine exciting surgical practice, research, education and charity work, as well as giving me opportunities to travel widely.<\/p>\n

If you could do another job for just one day, what would it be?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Having spent most of my career learning the art of plastic surgery and its application to the human body, I would love to spend the day in psychoanalytical practice exploring the labyrinthine depths of the psyche.<\/p>\n

What advances in medicine are you most excited about?<\/strong><\/p>\n

3D bioprinting represents a very promising recent advance and I look forward to be able to use 3D printed composite tissues for the benefit of my patients.<\/p>\n
