Dr Rathore graduated with distinction from the King George's Medical College, Lucknow India in 1992. He completed his post graduate general medical training and was awarded Gold Medal from Lucknow University, India. He began his cardiology training at the Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital, including a period of clinical research leading to the award of an MD from Liverpool University. He then completed a prestigious and rare advaced fellowship in Japan, under the mentorship of Dr Takahiko Suzuki and Osamu Katoh, a world authority in coronary angioplasty. During this time he gained experience in chronic total occlusion angioplasty (unblocking heavy calcified arteries) and rotational atherectomy (unblocking heavy calcified arteries). Dr Rathore took up a consultant post at Frimley Park Hospital in March, 2012.
He has got particular interest in transradial procedures and treatment of patients with complex coronary artery disease. In addition, he has expertise in cardiac CT angiogram as a diagnostic tool in the assessment of patients with chest pain. He has been instrumental in starting Cardiac CT services at Frimley Park Hospital since July, 2012.
