In the NHS, Dr Victoria Swale works as a Consultant Dermatologist and locum Consultant Dermatopathologist at the Royal Free Hospital. She is a core member of the Skin Cancer Multidisciplinary Team as both a Dermatologist and Pathologist. Dr Swale set up the ongoing Dermatology clinicopathological conference at the Royal Free in 2004.

Her private practice is based at OneWelbeck Skin Health and Allergy, a modern purpose-built clinic with state-of-the-art facilities including the Vectra WB360 whole body 3D imaging system for advanced mole mapping.

Dr Victoria Swale’s areas of expertise include general dermatology, skin cancer, vulval dermatology and pigmented lesions, including moles. Dermoscopy and mole mapping are central to her practice. She sees both adults and children with a range of skin conditions including acne, eczema, psoriasis, hair problems and skin lesions. Dr Swale takes time to best understand her patient’s concerns and to address them, as well as to explain their condition and treatment clearly in a kind and collaborative manner.

Dr Swale trained in medicine at the University of Southampton, and then gained her Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP) in 1995 during general medical training. She completed her Dermatology training after working in several leading London teaching hospitals. She was awarded her Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from the University of London in 2004 for her work in clinical and genetic aspects of skin cancer and melanocytic naevi.

Dr Swale was elected to Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians in 2008. She is a member of the British Association of Dermatologists, the American Academy of Dermatology, the Royal Society of Medicine. She is a recently demitted member of the Executive Committee of the British Society for Dermatopathology and the British Society for the Study of Vulval Diseases. Dr Swale is a member of the Executive Committee for Dermatology under the auspices of the Royal College of Physicians. She has been the senior judge at the British Association of Dermatologists' annual conferences, and chairs sessions annually. Dr Swale is currently the Assistant Honorary Secretary of the British Association of Dermatologists, leading to the role of Honorary Secretary in 2025.

She lectures regularly to local GPs, teaches on several annual national courses, and gave several invited lectures to GPs in Italy in 2021.
