Dr Anne Farrell has been practising and teaching dermatology for close to 25 years. She currently serves as a Consultant Dermatologist at Spire Gatwick Park Hospital and Spire Tunbridge Wells Hospital as well as her own clinic Dermatology Consulting in Tunbridge Wells. Her areas of interest include cosmetic dermatology, lasers, acne, skin cancer, non-surgical cosmetic treatments, anti-wrinkle treatment by injection, treatment of excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis), skin cancer, mole and skin tag removal and vulval dermatology. She is also an expert in inflammatory skin disease, allergy and offers paediatric dermatology having obtained the Diploma in Child Health.
After graduating from Oxford University Medical School in 1989, Dr Farrell gained extensive general medicine experience at the Queens Medical Centre, University Hospital of Nottingham, where she obtained Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP), and in the Department of Paediatrics, where she obtained the Diploma in Child Health. She became a full-time dermatologist in 1992, training as a Dermatology Registrar at the Chelsea & Westminster Hospital and Charing Cross Hospital and Senior Registrar in Oxford. She also undertook a graduate fellowship in cosmetic dermatology at the University of Miami as well as attachments with leading cosmetic and laser dermatologists in New York, Philadelphia, Washington, Utah and California. She was appointed as Consultant Dermatologist in 1999, initially in Tunbridge Wells, and then as Consultant Dermatologist at the University of Wales, Cardiff.
Dr Farrell was awarded a Doctor of Medicine Degree from Oxford for a published research thesis. She has published more than 80 scientific articles on a variety of dermatology subjects and teaches on postgraduate events. She regularly participates in the most influential international conferences and visits overseas centres, particularly in the US, to ensure that the treatments at Dermatology Consulting use the most advanced techniques.
