Dr David Fenton is a leading London dermatologist with more than three decades of experience in the field of hair loss, alopecia, hypertrichosis and nail disorders for both adults and children. It was Dr Fenton who carried out the original research into Minoxidil, the first topical hair regrowth solution. He currently serves as a Consultant Dermatologist at St John's Institute of Dermatology, Guy's and St Thomas' Hospital. The hair clinic at St John's Institute of Dermatology, St Thomas' Hospital has developed into the only dedicated national hair and scalp clinic in the UK. It recognises the importance not only of the physical symptoms, but also the emotional and psychological impact it has on patients and families.
Dr Fenton works as an adviser with support groups such as Alopecia UK and Changing Faces. In 2013 he was made a Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (MBE) for his services to the treatment of skin and hair disorders.
