Dr David Lubel is an experienced consultant physician and geriatrician with broad clinical interests that include acute general medicine, cardio-respiratory pathology, investigation of falls and dizzy spells in the elderly. After retiring from the NHS he has been re-employed on a part-time contract. He has a special interest in intermediate care and provides medical input to the Denham Unit, a 30 bedded, community based facility with a turnover of approximately 30 patients a month. He holds a weekly general medical/geriatric clinic at Northwick Park Hospital and a monthly falls clinic. He has a largely inpatient general medical and geriatric private practice based at the Clementine Churchill Hospital.
Dr Lubel qualified with Distinction in Medicine from Guy's Hospital in 1983. His surgical training exposed him to general, vascular and urological surgery. He trained within a variety of hospitals in London including St Thomas' Hospital, University College, London and Northwick Park Hospital.
Dr Lubel is chairman of the Harrow Local Research Ethics Committee, and was formerly honorary secretary of the British Geriatrics Society.
