    An orthopaedic and trauma surgeon specialising in foot and ankle surgery and complex lower limb reconstruction, Mr Nima Heidari’s NHS practice is at the Royal London Hospital where he has set up the Foot and Ankle unit. This teaching hospital is the largest trauma centre in the UK and one of the busiest in Europe, treating the most severely injured patients. He has clinical expertise in foot and ankle, complex lower limb trauma, complex reconstruction, correction of deformities, limb length discrepancy, sports injuries, ankle joint preservation surgery, complex lower limb trauma, and correction of limb length discrepancy and deformity.

    After qualifying from St George's Hospital Medical School in London in 1998, Mr Heidari researched the effect of stem cells in bone regeneration at the Centre for Biomedical Engineering, Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, University College London where he achieved a distinction for his project. He has since published extensively on minimally-invasive techniques of fracture fixation, response of the growing bone to injury, techniques for limb reconstruction and bone biologics. He has over 40 papers published in peer-reviewed scientific journals. His orthopaedic and trauma training was on the Royal London Hospital Rotation with fellowship training with Prof Atkins in Bristol.

    Mr Heidari has fellowship experience from many centres of excellence around the world including USA, Canada and Europe. These include the Hospital for Special Surgery (New York), Rothman Institute (Philadelphia), Harbor-UCLA Medical Centre (California), University of Utah Orthopaedic Centre (Salt Lake City) Medical University of Graz (Austria), University Hospital of Lille (France).
