Dr Nisar Shah is a highly experienced consultant cardiologist, specialising in general (internal) medicine with a focus on cardiology. He completed his medical degree in 1998 and has since pursued extensive postgraduate training, gaining valuable experience in leading cardiac centres across the UK. Dr Shah completed his subspecialty training at the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff, where he focused on heart failure and complex implantable cardiac devices.

Dr Shah holds Fellowships from the College of Physicians and Surgeons (FCPS General Medicine) and the Royal College of Physicians (London). He is also a member of the Royal College of Physicians (Ireland) and holds certifications from the British Heart Rhythm Society (BHRS UK) and the Heart Failure Association of the European Society of Cardiology.

Since August 2019, Dr Shah has been serving as a consultant cardiologist at Sandwell & West Birmingham NHS Trust. In this role, he oversees a wide range of general cardiology services. His main subspecialty interests include the diagnosis and management of heart failure, cardiomyopathies, heart rhythm disorders, and recurrent blackouts. Dr Shah is particularly recognised for his leadership in the syncope service at Sandwell & West Birmingham NHS Trust.

In addition to his clinical responsibilities, Dr Shah is actively involved in research projects and has contributed to peer-reviewed journals. His dedication to advancing cardiology and improving patient outcomes is evident in his ongoing commitment to both clinical practice and research.
