Miss Rajni Jain (MBBS FRCOphth) has more than a decade of experience in ophthalmic surgical training. She works as a Consultant Opthalmic Surgeon specialising in oculoplastic surgery at the Western Eye Hospital (Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust) and Hillingdon and Mount Vernon NHS Trusts. She is also a principal investigator in a multi-center randomised clinical trial for treating thyroid eye disease. She specialises in eyelid reconstruction following tumour excision and burns, treatment of children with eyelid abnormalities, and conducting aesthetic oculoplastics including blepharoplasty, endoscopic brow-lifting techniques, anti-wrinkle injections and facial aesthetics including dermal fillers. She can conduct tear duct surgery using both the external and the endoscopic (scarless) routes.
Miss Jain graduated in medicine from Guy's and St Thomas' Medical School in 1995. She then trained at Addenbrookes Hospital, Cambridge and received specialist ophthalmology training at the Moorfields Eye Hospital, London. Her many subspecialist fellowships at the Moorfields Eye Hospital and in the Cranio-Facio-Palpebral Unit at Chelsea and Westminister Hospital helped her hone her surgical skills. She is part of the faculty for training the trainers at the Royal College of Ophthalmologists. She is also a member of the British Society of Oculoplastic surgeons and the Royal College of Ophthalmologists. In pursuit of her diverse research interests, she regularly presents at scientific seminars.
