    Dr Simon Blease is a Consultant Musculoskeletal Radiologist currently working in private practice, delivering high-quality imaging support to the medical community in central London. His special interests are musculoskeletal radiology, sports medicine and spinal imaging. He has served as Honorary Musculoskeletal Radiologist to The London Spine Clinic, The Welsh Institute of Sport, BUPA Wellness and Back On Track. He is Honorary Secretary to the British Institute of Radiology.

    Dr Blease graduated from Welsh National School of Medicine and entered the RAF Medical Branch and trained in the London Radiology Training Scheme. After leaving the RAF, he worked in the NHS for three years before becoming the UK's first full-time teleradiologist with MedTel International in 1999. He developed a major interest in MRI, especially for musculoskeletal and sports applications and, lately, spinal imaging. He established the first MRI scanner in the British military service in 1993 and was project leader for a new MRI and CT Centre in the NHS Wales.

    Dr Blease was a founding member of the UK Association of Doctors in Sport (UKADIS). He was made a Fellow of the Faculty of Sports and Exercise Medicine (Ireland) in 2004 and is a Founding Fellow of the Faculty of Sports and Exercise Medicine (UK). He is the ex-Honorary Secretary to the British Institute of Radiology, becoming a Fellow of the Institute and was awarded the Distinguished Service Medal in 2012. He teaches on the Diploma of Sports Medicine for Bath University and maintains international publishing and lecturing activities. He was awarded a European Diploma in Musculoskletal Imaging in 2010. He is committed to multidisciplinary team working in the independent sector.
