    Dr Adam Harris is a Consultant Physician and Gastroenterologist with more than 22 years experience. He works in full-time independent practice in The City of London, Docklands and Kent. His special interests are the symptoms and treatment of dyspepsia, gastro-oesophageal reflux, inflammatory bowel diseases and irritable bowel syndrome.

    Dr Harris attended the Charing Cross and Westminster Medical School, West London from 1981 until graduation in 1987. His post-graduate training in internal medicine and gastroenterology took place in Charing Cross, St Mary's, Central Middlesex, St Thomas and St George's Hospitals in London and in Kingston, Epsom, Hillingdon and Harefield Hospitals in the Home Counties. He then spent two years (1993-95) as a research fellow investigating the relationship between infection with helicobacter pylori, gastric acid output, duodenal bulb morphology and duodenal ulcer disease. This work led to him being recognized as a Doctor of Medicine (MD) from the University of London.

    Dr Harris worked as Senior Registrar to Dr JJ Misiewicz and Professor D Silk at Central Middlesex Hospital, London between 1995 and 1997. His clinical training covered dyspepsia, gastro-oesophageal reflux and liver diseases and he developed particular expertise in the management of patients with inflammatory bowel diseases and functional abdominal conditions, such as irritable bowel syndrome. He was appointed as Consultant Physician and Gastroenterologist to Kent & Sussex Hospital in 1997 and he worked there until October 2017.
