Dr Helen Fidler is a highly experienced Consultant Gastroenterologist, appointed in 1998, who has overseen the significant expansion of her gastroenterology department. She has gained extensive clinical experience from serving an increasing population catchment area.
Dr Fidler graduated with a first-class degree from Guys Hospital in 1987. She trained in London at centres of excellence, including University College Hospital and The Royal Free Hospital. Her areas of expertise include irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), with a particular focus on how these conditions affect patients' quality of life.
Dr Fidler has a unique interest in treating anxious patients and has developed a multidisciplinary team to provide a holistic approach to managing troublesome symptoms. Her clinical interests extend to national roles, reflecting her high esteem among colleagues.
