Dr Justin Haslam is a highly experienced Consultant Psychiatrist who has been practising since 1998. He graduated from the University of Manchester Medical School in 1989 and completed his training in the North West of England. In 1993, he gained membership to the Royal College of Psychiatrists. Dr Haslam began his full-time role as a Consultant Psychiatrist within the NHS at Stepping Hill Hospital in Stockport, covering the High Peak area of North Derbyshire.

During his training, Dr Haslam dedicated three years to research at the Christie Hospital, focusing on burnout in healthcare staff. He also provided mental health care and treatment to patients with cancer and their relatives, and taught clinical and communication skills to trainees. Since 2002, Dr Haslam has been working exclusively in Private Practice.

Dr Haslam has a special interest in a range of general adult psychiatric conditions. His areas of expertise include depression, bipolar disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), anxiety, and addiction. He served as Medical Director from 2011 to 2018 but now concentrates solely on clinical practice. In collaboration with his psychology colleagues, he co-authored ‘Coping with Depression: A Guide to What Works for Patient, Carers and Professional’ in 2011 and published a paper on psychological treatment for OCD.

Dr Haslam treats a variety of conditions, including bipolar disorder, depression, OCD, anxiety disorder, stress, panic disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), alcohol use disorder, non-opioid drug misuse, burnout, ADHD in adults, mental health difficulties in conjunction with physical illnesses, and chronic pain. His extensive experience and dedication to mental health make him a leading specialist in his field.
