    Mr Omar Sabri is an NHS Consultant Surgeon in Trauma & Orthopaedics at St George’s University Hospital. He also practices privately at BUPA Cromwell Hospital, Parkside Hospital, Nuffield Health Woking Hospital. His clinical interests include trauma and pelvis and hip reconstruction including arthroplasty. His special interests include complex hip reconstruction and revision hip replacement, arthroscopic knee surgery and knee sports injuries, trauma surgery, trauma-related problems, and pelvic and acetabular trauma surgery.

    Mr Sabri graduated in medicine from Cairo University in 1995 and completed MS (Orthopadeics) in 1999. He spent time at Hospital for Special Surgery, New York in 2008 where he acquired experience in Pelvic and Acetabular Surgery as well as complex arthroplasty. He pursued and completed his higher surgical training in Trauma and Orthopaedics on the Bristol Rotation in the UK in 2010. He undertook a highly competitive Trauma Fellowship in Nottingham in 2011 followed by the much sought after Pelvic and Complex Lower Limb Arthroplasty Fellowship at St George’s Hospital and the South West London Elective Orthopaedic Centre in London. It is during the latter fellowship that he gained valuable experience in complex lower limb reconstruction including bone and joint infection cases. After serving as a Consultant in Trauma & Orthopaedics at Newcastle University Hospitals since September 2012, he moved back to London in 2015 where he now practices as an NHS and private consultant.

    Mr Sabri is also an ATLS (Advanced Trauma and Life Support) instructor, a faculty member at AO, the world’s largest global trauma and orthopedic community, and the acting Secretary to the Orthopaedic Trauma Society of the UK & Ireland. He has published in several peer-reviewed journals as well as written many articles as an invited author. He has authored the chapter on the ‘Management of Limb and Pelvic Trauma’ in the Oxford Textbook of Critical Care which remains a main reference for managing these complex injuries.

    Mr Sabri has continued interest in medical education and research. In addition to being an Honorary Lecturer at the University of London, he is also an acting Primary Investigator in 2 NIHR multicenter clinical trials relating to pelvic fractures. He is also helping with the development of a Virtual Reality Simulator used to train surgeons and improve performance in the operating theatre.
