Mr Richard Slade is a highly experienced Consultant Gynaecologist based in the UK. He qualified from The University of Leicester in 1984 and has since built a distinguished career in gynaecological oncology. Mr Slade has worked at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford and the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff before his appointment as a Consultant Gynaecological Surgeon in Manchester.
Since 1995, Mr Slade has been a senior Consultant Gynaecologist at The Christie Hospital, the largest single-site cancer unit in Europe. His extensive experience in managing major gynaecological cancers has made him a key figure at this world-renowned centre.
Mr Slade has played a significant role in medical education and training. He served as the Chairman of the Senior Training Committee, where he established excellent training programmes for registrars and developed surgical training for subspecialty trainees in Gynae-Oncology at The Christie. Additionally, he is the Chairman of the North West Sector Specialist multi-disciplinary team, which covers Bolton, Wigan, and Salford, overseeing the care of approximately 1 million people in Gynaecological Oncology.
His commitment to clinical excellence and education is further demonstrated by his role as an examiner for the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in London. Mr Slade has also served as vice-chairman of the Clinical Subgroup in Gynae-Oncology.

He is proficient in colposcopy, hysteroscopy, hysterectomy, female sterilisation and its reversal, laparoscopy, endometrial ablation, fibroid removal, cervical biopsy, coil insertion, vulvectomy, oophorectomy, vaginal hysterectomy, and prolapse surgery. He is also highly skilled in managing gynaecological oncology, including cervical, endometrial, ovarian, and vulval cancers, as well as conditions such as endometriosis, abnormal smear results, intermenstrual bleeding, post-coital bleeding, post-menopausal bleeding, fibroids, ovarian cysts, prolapse, ectropion, and dysmenorrhagia.
