Mr Sumohan Chatterjee is a consultant breast surgeon with a specialism in breast cancer and reconstructive surgery. He first qualified in India in 1992 before moving to the UK, where he completed his basic surgical training in Yorkshire. After achieving his FRCS, he became a research fellow at the Academic Surgical Unit at Hull University. He then pursued higher surgical training at the North West Deanery, specialising in breast surgery at Bolton Hospital and South Manchester University Hospital. Mr Chatterjee was appointed to the National Oncoplastic Fellowship in Sheffield, focusing on breast reconstruction and cosmetic surgery.

In 2005, Mr Chatterjee began his consultant position at Salford Royal Hospital Trust. He moved to his current role at The Nightingale & Genesis Breast Cancer Centre at University Hospital of South Manchester in 2015.

Mr Chatterjee has a keen interest in teaching and has organised and taught courses in implant-based reconstruction. He is currently the lead for trainees in his unit. His contributions to the field include published papers, book chapters, and international lectures. He is also a member of the council of the Asian Society of Mastology.

Mr Chatterjee's areas of expertise include oncoplastic breast surgery, treatment of breast cancer and benign disease, breast reduction, breast reconstruction, and sentinel lymph node biopsy. He offers comprehensive assessment of all breast symptoms as a one-stop service.
