Dr Aashish Vyas is a Consultant Respiratory Physician who specialises in asthma, undiagnosed breathlessness, COPD, chronic cough, respiratory infection, and mechanical ventilation. He practices at and helps run the Elite Breathlessness Clinic at The Manchester Institute of Health & Performance.

Dr Vyas gained his primary medical qualification at the University of Manchester in 1990 and went on to earn several postgraduate qualifications, including his Medical Doctorate and CCT in respiratory medicine. He is also a member of the Royal College of Physicians. Appointed as a Consultant in 2003, Dr Vyas has become internationally renowned for his expertise in respiratory medicine. He leads the NHSE commissioned regional severe asthma and complex breathlessness Unit for Lancashire and South Cumbria.

In addition to his clinical roles, Dr Vyas is an Honorary Lecturer with the Lancashire Teaching Hospital Trust and leads the Severe Asthma Service as part of the Northwest Severe Asthma Network. His areas of expertise include bronchial provocation challenges, laryngoscopy, EVH tests, cardiopulmonary exercise tests, spirometry, and exhaled nitric oxide tests.

Dr Vyas treats a range of conditions such as asthma, breathlessness in athletes, chest and respiratory medicine, undiagnosed causes of breathlessness, respiratory diseases, COVID and long COVID recovery, lung infections, and COPD. His dedication to respiratory health and his extensive experience make him a leading figure in his field.
