Dr. Adnan Nadir is a highly esteemed cardiologist based in the United Kingdom. He serves as a consultant cardiologist at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital and holds the position of Associate Professor of Cardiology with the Institute of Cardiovascular Science at the University of Birmingham. Dr. Nadir is a Fellow of both the American College of Cardiology and the European Society of Cardiology. He also acts as the clinical lead for Cardiology across Birmingham and Solihull ICS.
Dr. Nadir has extensive experience in all aspects of cardiology, with a particular focus on minimally invasive heart valve replacement and repair procedures, including TAVI and MitraClip. His medical journey began with training in the West Midlands and Northwest England, followed by a British Heart Foundation Fellowship in Scotland, where he developed innovative techniques for early heart disease detection. His research has been published in prestigious journals such as the Lancet and Circulation.
In 2017, Dr. Nadir returned to the UK and took on the role of consultant interventional cardiologist at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham. He has since led the transcatheter heart valve program, providing non-surgical treatment options for patients. His expertise covers a wide range of heart conditions, including chest pains, palpitations, breathlessness, dizziness, heart valve disease, angina, and heart failure.
Dr. Nadir is also dedicated to education, leading initiatives within the cardiology department and holding an honorary senior lecturer position at the University of Birmingham. He mentors medical students and cardiologists globally, promoting knowledge exchange and skill development. Outside of his professional life, Dr. Nadir enjoys spending time with his family, cycling, skiing, and gardening.
