Dr Afzal Sohaib is a distinguished Consultant Cardiologist with a focus on heart rhythm disorders, including atrial fibrillation (AF), palpitations, shortness of breath, and blackouts. He is proficient in implanting pacemakers and defibrillators and performing ablation procedures for heart rhythm disorders. His NHS practice is based at Bart’s Heart Centre at St Bartholomew's Hospital in London, one of Europe’s largest specialist heart centres. Additionally, he serves as the Clinical Lead for the heart rhythm service at Barking, Havering & Redbridge University Hospitals, one of London's busiest Trusts.

Dr Sohaib is also an Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer at Bart's and the London School of Medicine and Dentistry. He graduated from University College London in 2005 with distinction and numerous accolades, including the Betuel Prize. His cardiology training was completed at prestigious institutions such as Hammersmith Hospital, the Royal Brompton Hospital, and Harefield Hospital.

Awarded a Clinical Research Training Fellowship by the British Heart Foundation, Dr Sohaib completed his PhD at Imperial College London, focusing on how pacemakers improve symptoms in heart failure. He has published extensively in international peer-reviewed journals and is a regular speaker at national and international cardiology conferences. He is also the author of ""Decoding Cardiac Electrophysiology.""

Dr Sohaib has a passion for teaching and mentoring future cardiologists. He has held leadership roles, including President of the British Junior Cardiologists’ Association (BJCA) and a position on the Council of the British Cardiovascular Society. His expertise and dedication make him a highly respected figure in the field of cardiology.
