Dr Ahmed Oliemy is a consultant thoracic surgeon specialising in minimally invasive and robotic assisted lung and chest wall procedures. He practices at Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust, where he was appointed in 2019, and at the Harborne hospital in Birmingham since 2024. He uses robotic assisted thoracic surgery (RATS) and uniportal video assisted thoracoscopic surgery (uVATS) techniques in around 90% of cases.

His areas of expertise include lung cancer resections (lobectomy, wedge and sleeve resections), chest wall surgery including pectus correction, minimally invasive thymectomy, pleural disease management, and mediastinal procedures. He treats conditions such as primary and metastatic lung tumours, pleural effusions, collapsed lung, empyema, thymoma and pectus excavatum.
