Mr Alastair MacKenzie Ross is a highly esteemed Consultant Plastic Surgeon with a special interest in skin oncology. He has been serving in this role since 2013 and is a key member of the skin cancer multi-disciplinary teams at Guy’s and St Thomas’, King’s College, and Queen Elizabeth (Woolwich) Hospitals. Additionally, he is a founding member of the multi-disciplinary skin cancer team at the Wellington Hospital.

Mr MacKenzie Ross completed his undergraduate studies at The University of Cambridge. He then undertook his initial medical and surgical training in East Anglia, Swansea, and London. During this period, he dedicated two years to research on senescence in melanocytes and melanoma, earning a Doctor of Medicine degree.

His specialist training in plastic surgery was completed in the London Deanery. He further honed his expertise through fellowships in hand surgery in Singapore, cosmetic reconstructive surgery in London, and as a Poche Fellow in Melanoma and Surgical Oncology at the Melanoma Institute Australia.

Mr MacKenzie Ross is proficient in a wide range of procedures and treatments. His areas of expertise include skin and subcutaneous mass excision, fat extraction and redistribution, sentinel lymph node biopsy, and electrochemotherapy. He is particularly skilled in treating skin cancers such as basal cell carcinoma (BCC), squamous cell carcinoma (SCC), and melanoma. He also specialises in the management of scars, soft tissue masses, and non-melanoma skin cancers, and performs Moh’s surgery reconstruction.

Throughout his career, Mr MacKenzie Ross has been dedicated to advancing the field of skin oncology and plastic surgery. His contributions as the surgical lead for the London Cancer Alliance Skin Pathway Group highlight his commitment to improving patient outcomes and advancing medical knowledge in his field.
