Mr Alessandro Viviano is a Consultant Cardiac Surgeon at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, based at Hammersmith Hospital. He specialises in adult cardiac surgery and complex aortic procedures, including aortic reoperations and emergency repair of acute aortic dissection.

His clinical interests include aortic root and arch surgery, aortic and mitral valve surgery, and coronary artery bypass surgery using arterial conduits. He is also involved in minimally invasive cardiac surgery and the Northwest London Acute Aortic Dissection rota.

Mr Viviano obtained his medical degree from the University of Rome in 2007. He trained in Rome and the London Deanery, with experience at Imperial College London, the Royal Sussex County Hospital, Guy's Hospital and St George's Hospital. He undertook an advanced cardiac and aortic fellowship at Waikato Hospital in New Zealand.

He holds an MD (Res) and has undertaken international clinical electives and fellowships in Europe, the USA, China and New Zealand. Alongside his surgical practice, he serves as Clinical Governance Lead for Cardiac Surgery, with a focus on patient safety and surgical outcomes.
