Prof Amedeo Chiribiri is a consultant cardiologist at Guy's and St Thomas' Hospital, where he serves as the director of the Cardiac Magnetic Resonance Service. He is also a professor of cardiovascular imaging at King's College London. In addition to his NHS role, Prof Chiribiri sees patients privately at The London Bridge Hospital and Harley Street Clinic in London.
Prof Chiribiri graduated with honours in medicine from the University of Turin in 2001. He then pursued specialist training in cardiology at the same university, followed by advanced cardiac imaging and cardiac MRI training at the German Heart Institute Berlin. He completed his cardiology training (CCT) in 2006 and earned a PhD in experimental medicine and human physiology in 2011 from the University of Turin. During this period, he also worked as an honorary consultant cardiologist and clinical research fellow in cardiovascular imaging at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust.
In 2013, Prof Chiribiri was appointed as the director of the Cardiac Magnetic Resonance Service at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust. He is actively involved in research focused on cardiac imaging, with over 140 peer-reviewed publications, several book chapters, and numerous ongoing large research grants. Prof Chiribiri is a regular lecturer at both national and international conferences.
Prof Chiribiri specialises in all clinical applications of cardiovascular MRI, including stress MRI and pacemaker scans. His expertise and dedication to the field make him a leading figure in cardiovascular imaging.
