Mr Amir Ghanbari is a distinguished general and colorectal surgeon based in London. He currently holds the position of clinical director for the department of general surgery at Homerton University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. Mr Ghanbari's areas of expertise include laparoscopic and open colorectal surgery, general and emergency surgery. His clinical interests encompass colorectal cancers, inflammatory bowel disease, diverticular disease, hernia repair, gall bladder surgery, haemorrhoids, fistulas, anal fissures, pilonidal disease, and endoscopy procedures such as colonoscopy and flexible sigmoidoscopy.
Mr Ghanbari earned his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degrees from the University of Dundee in 2002. He completed his surgical training in London and the East Midlands, followed by a fellowship in colorectal surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons in 2017. He was appointed as a consultant general and colorectal surgeon in 2018. He is also a member of the Association of Coloproctology of Great Britain and Ireland.
In addition to his clinical work, Mr Ghanbari is actively involved in teaching and research. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed journals and presented at both national and international conferences.
