Dr Anantharaman Ramasamy is a consultant cardiologist and interventional cardiologist at the Wellington Hospital, Barts Heart Centre and Homerton University Hospital. He treats adult heart conditions, with a particular focus on coronary artery disease and complex coronary intervention.

His interventional practice includes coronary angiography, balloon angioplasty, coronary stenting, coronary physiology and intravascular imaging-guided PCI. He also uses non-invasive investigations including ambulatory ECG and blood pressure monitoring, echocardiography, cardiac CT, cardiac MRI and myocardial perfusion imaging.

Dr Ramasamy graduated with distinction from the University of Edinburgh and completed postgraduate training in Oxford and London. He trained in cardiology at Barts Heart Centre and undertook advanced fellowship training in complex coronary intervention and cardiogenic shock at the Royal Brompton Hospital. He is dual accredited in cardiology and general internal medicine.

He holds a PhD from Queen Mary University of London for research into coronary imaging and plaque characterisation. As an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer there, he leads research in coronary imaging, computational modelling and AI-enabled cardiovascular assessment. His work has received national and international awards.
