Dr Andrew Markey is a distinguished Consultant Dermatologist and Dermatological and Laser Surgeon. He graduated from the University of Manchester Medical School in 1980 and completed his specialist dermatology training at Guy's Hospital and St. John's Institute of Dermatology from 1986. In 1990, he earned his doctorate M.D. for his research on non-melanoma skin cancer. Following his accreditation in dermatology in 1991, Dr Markey served as an Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of California, San Francisco, specialising in procedural dermatology.

Upon returning to the UK, Dr Markey was appointed Consultant Dermatologist and Senior Lecturer at St. John's Institute, St. Thomas' Hospital, London. He played a pivotal role in establishing the Dermatological Surgery and Laser Unit (DSLU) and served as Lead Clinician from 1993 to 2000. Since January 2003, he has been in full-time private practice while maintaining an Honorary Consultant position at St. John's Institute, Guy's and St. Thomas' Hospitals. He continues to lecture and train doctors in dermatological surgery.

Dr Markey is an internationally recognised expert in procedural dermatology, including surgical procedures for the skin, laser technologies, chemical peeling, and injectable treatments like botulinum toxins. He has over 70 publications and has been a guest speaker at numerous international dermatology meetings. His areas of expertise include dermatological surgery, laser skin surgery, skin resurfacing procedures, and skin injectable procedures. He is dedicated to mitigating the visible consequences of various skin diseases using specialised techniques and technologies.
