Dr Andrew Robinson has been at Salford Royal since 2001 where he is a Consultant Gastroenterologist and Clinical Director for Gastroenterology, Respiratory Medicine and Palliative Care. He has more than three decades of experience in the field of gastroenterology. His special interests are in diarrhoea and inflammatory bowel disease and his research interests include patient participation in decision-making, guided self-management and access to information. He is also Core Medical Training Director for North West Deanery and Associate Regional Advisor Royal College of Physicians.
Dr Robinson qualified from Oxford University in 1989 and worked in Oxford before returning to North West. He was trained in the North West region and took time out to undertake a PhD funded by the Medical Research Council in 1999. He was appointed as Consultant at Salford Royal, Hospital in Manchester in the Gastroenterology department.
