Her areas of expertise include common hereditary cancers such as breast, ovarian, endometrial, prostate, and bowel cancers, as well as dermatological cancer genetics and skin cancer.

Dr Kulkarni is passionate about developing innovative technologies and using digital transformation to improve patient care in the field of genomics. She played a key role in the development of the Cancer Genetics App, now known as QGenome, which helps clinicians assess the risk of hereditary cancers and provides referral guidance. She also contributed to the creation of Nucleus, an online genomics educational platform for healthcare professionals. Dr Kulkarni has a proven track record of establishing policies and guidelines related to cancer genetics, collaborating with a wide range of colleagues across clinical genetics, oncology, and allied healthcare specialties.
