Dr Anna Martinez is one of the UK’s leading paediatric dermatologists and is internationally recognised for her expertise in this area. In 1991, Dr Martinez gained her MBBS, MRCP, and FRCPCH qualifications at St Bartholomew’s Hospital in London. She has since accumulated considerable knowledge and experience in this field.
Anna’s expertise includes the diagnosis and management of paediatric skin conditions, especially severe eczema, birthmarks, and vascular anomalies. She is also a specialist in managing rare skin diseases, including skin fragility disorders, ichthyoses, and Netherton syndrome.
Currently, Dr Martinez is a Clinical Lead at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) in London, a position she has held since 2018. It was at GOSH where she established the combined dermatology allergy service. Anna also engages in private practice at The Portland Hospital for Women and Children and is an Honorary Senior Lecturer at University College London.
Anna’s achievements in the field led to many awards. This includes her nomination for Colleague of the Year at Great Ormond Street in 2018 and a top three place in the NHS Health Hero Awards 2018. In addition, Anna has published numerous peer-reviewed research papers in the field of paediatric dermatology, which have been recognised globally. She is also the Chief Investigator and Principal Investigator of several clinical studies into new treatments for children with skin disorders.
