Dr Anthi Thangarajah is a consultant specialising in paediatric gastroenterology, working at Chiswick Medical Centre and The Portland Hospital. She is highly experienced in paediatric diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy and is a JAG accredited trainer in endoscopy.
Dr Thangarajah qualified in medicine in 2000 from King’s College School of Medicine, London. During her degree, she completed an intercalated BSc and achieved a first-class honours degree. She then undertook a competitive national training programme in paediatric gastroenterology, hepatology, and nutrition. Following this, she completed a PhD at Imperial College London, focusing on the nutritional assessment of children with chronic intestinal conditions.
In her field of paediatrics, Dr Thangarajah is dedicated to delivering services for treating feeding difficulties, gastrointestinal allergies, intestinal failure, and inflammatory bowel diseases. She is also actively involved in research aimed at improving the efficiency of service delivery.
Beyond her clinical work, Dr Thangarajah is a member of several prestigious organisations, including the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health, the British and European Society for Paediatric Gastroenterology Hepatology and Nutrition, and the European Crohn’s Colitis Organisation.
Dr Thangarajah's areas of expertise include gastrointestinal endoscopy, endoscopic ultrasound, colonoscopy, gut-related food allergies, inflammatory bowel disease, intestinal failure, feeding difficulties, gastro-oesophageal reflux disease, constipation, coeliac disease, gut dysmotility, functional abdominal pain, irritable bowel syndrome, and food intolerance.
