Dr Arun Rajendran is a Consultant Gastroenterologist with over a decade of experience in the treatment and management of gastroenterological issues, including inflammatory bowel disease, reflux, and irritable bowel syndrome. He sees private patients at the BMI Clementine Churchill Hospital.

Dr Rajendran graduated in 2001 and completed his postgraduate specialist gastroenterology training in North West London. He spent three years at St Marks Hospital for his postgraduate research and teaching fellowship. In 2020, he was awarded a research MD from Kings College London following the submission of his thesis examining the learning curve of colonoscopic polypectomy. His research has led to peer-reviewed publications and several awards, including the 2016 NIHR CLAHRC support award, the 2016 ASGE Cook Medical Marsha Dreyer Award, and the 2016 BSG best teaching abstract award. He has presented his work at both national and international meetings.

In 2015, Dr Rajendran completed his PG certificate in Medical Education, leading to his accreditation to the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) in 2017. He maintains an active research and teaching interest as a Senior Clinical Teacher at Imperial College, London. He continues to peer review articles for international journals, contribute to research by recruiting patients for clinical trials, and present at national and international meetings on topics such as cancer screening, training, and inflammatory bowel disease. He regularly contributes as a multidisciplinary working group member for improving the quality of endoscopy training.

Dr Rajendran was appointed as a full-time substantive consultant in Gastroenterology and General Internal Medicine at Hillingdon Hospital NHS Foundation Trust in 2018. He is the Endoscopy Training Lead for the Trust. He offers outpatient and interventional endoscopy services at both Hillingdon and Mount Vernon Hospitals, in addition to seeing patients with a full range of gastroenterology, general hepatology, and inflammatory bowel disease in his NHS practice. He also covers emergency cases at Harefield Hospital.
