Mr Mittal is currently a consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist and advanced Minimal Access (key hole/MAS) surgeon at West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust. He is also clinical lead for Out-patient Hysteroscopy (OPH) and Rapid Access Services at this trust. He conducts outpatient clinics and operates at both Watford General and St Albans City Hospitals.

He has a long experience of more than 20 years in obstetrics and gynaecology including 10 years in the UK. He has worked in prestigious London university hospitals namely, Guys and St. Thomas and Kings College Hospitals.

He has a special interest in performing key hole/ laparoscopic and hysteroscopic surgery for benign gynaecological conditions having undertaken many years of specialist surgical training in this field. He has been conducting laparoscopic and hysteroscopic surgery since 1998 along with practising general obstetrics and gynaecology. He has been faculty on laparoscopic training courses and workshops in UK and overseas.

Mr Mittal has also been trained in abdominal and vaginal surgery and uro-gynaecology surgery.Mr Mittal has been married since 1995 and has two sons. His wife is a consultant rheumatologist. Apart from family activities, he regularly visits gym. He likes to play cricket and badminton.
