Dr Syed Asad Hussain is a consultant rheumatologist and general physician with over 17 years of experience in practice. Dr Hussain practices at several hospitals in both the North West and central London areas, including London Bridge Hospital (HCA UK at The Shard).

Dr Hussain graduated from the University of London in 1995 with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree. He furthered his education by obtaining a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from the University of Liverpool in 2008. He served as a substantive consultant in the NHS for eight years, where he established a vibrant general medicine and rheumatology practice, before transitioning fully to private practice with successful appraisal and revalidation.

Dr Hussain has a spectrum of interests within the field of rheumatology and general medicine, with a particular specialist area of interest in bone metabolism. Through years of commitment to the rheumatology field, he has developed extensive skills and experience across an array of complex conditions. These include musculoskeletal medicine, inflammatory joint and connective tissue diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, psoriasis-related arthritis, osteoarthritis, spondyloarthropathy, and ankylosing spondylitis. He also treats soft tissue disorders such as tennis and golfer's elbow, carpal tunnel syndrome, fibromyalgia, vasculitis, and gout conditions. His general medicine practice encompasses a wide range of general medical illnesses as well as the management of hypertension.

Dr Hussain places great emphasis on the importance of communication and technology in his practice to provide the best possible treatment. He strives to offer his patients a reflective, evidence-based approach to treatment.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr Hussain is committed to medical education and training. He serves as an examiner for the Royal College of Physicians and is an accredited appraiser for other consultants working within the private sector.
