Benan Dala-Ali is a fellowship-trained Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in children's orthopaedic conditions. Benan has extensive experience managing a wide range of children's injuries, from minor sports injuries to complex neuromuscular conditions.
Benan completed his undergraduate and postgraduate medical training in London, including higher surgical training in Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery on the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital Rotation. He has worked at Major Trauma Centres in both London and Melbourne. Following his orthopaedic training, he completed two internationally recognised paediatric fellowships at Great Ormond Street Hospital in London and The Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne.
In addition to his clinical practice, Benan is heavily involved in research and teaching. He has published widely in international peer-reviewed scientific journals and regularly presents at national and international conferences. He teaches, lectures, mentors, and invigilates medical students, doctors, and surgeons in London and Oxford.
Benan leads the paediatric service at Milton Keynes University Hospital and holds an Honorary Consultant appointment at Oxford University Hospital. He is a member of the British Orthopaedic Association, Higher Education Academy, and Paediatric Orthopaedic Society of North America. He has been on the Specialist Register of the General Medical Council for Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery since 2017 and serves as a surgical tutor for Oxford University.
Outside of work, Benan is a sports enthusiast who has played rugby, cricket, and squash to university level. He regularly runs half and full marathons.
