Mr Bruce Braithwaite is an experienced senior consultant vascular and endovascular surgeon with over 29 years of expertise in treating varicose veins and various other vascular conditions. He works both privately and for the NHS and is the founder of the private practice “Veincare”.
Mr Braithwaite has been a consultant vascular surgeon since 2000, following his specialist training in Cambridge, Oxford, London, and the USA. Over the past decade, he has treated more than 3000 patients with varicose veins and other conditions in his private practice. Additionally, he has served numerous patients through the NHS, where he established the venous service at the Circle Treatment Centre, Europe's largest day case facility.
He is widely acknowledged as an expert in local anaesthesia and varicose vein treatment. Mr Braithwaite aims to treat all varicose veins in a single session to spare his patients from multiple procedures. He also offers treatments under general anaesthetic or sedation as a day case or overnight stay.
Mr Braithwaite is always available to advise other consultants on the best treatment methods for varicose veins and deep venous disease. His reputation for providing expert opinions, using an evidence-based approach, and recommending procedures only when necessary has led many of his medical colleagues to seek his expertise.
An active researcher in vascular surgery, Mr Braithwaite led the team that established the Olympus RFiTT keyhole technique. His significant contributions to varicose vein treatment research have been recommended by NICE as guidance to optimise treatment. He is affiliated with several professional societies and organisations, serving as the Clinical Lead for the Cardiac, Vascular, and Respiratory Department at Circle Healthcare, a Council Member of the Venous Forum of the Royal Society of Medicine, and a Founder Member of the International Society for Vascular Surgery.
Mr Braithwaite consistently receives 5-star patient feedback, reflecting his dedication to patient care and expertise in vascular surgery.
