Mr Colin Bicknell is a consultant vascular surgeon and clinical academic, as well as the head of specialty for vascular surgery at St Mary's Hospital, London.

Mr Bicknell is currently the president of the British Society of Endovascular Therapy and the chair of the Research Advisory Group for The Aortic Dissection Charitable Trust in the UK. He also holds the position of treasurer of the Surgical Section of the Royal Society of Medicine. Additionally, he is a member of the Vascular Society of Great Britain and Ireland and the European Society of Vascular Surgery.

In his clinical practice, Mr Bicknell specialises in a comprehensive range of vascular conditions that require both surgical and medical attention. These include aortic, carotid artery, upper limb arterial, lower limb arterial, lymphatic, and venous diseases. He has particular interests in aneurysm repair and minimally invasive (keyhole) therapies, including aneurysms and laser vein surgery. He also has a significant practice in treating thoracic outlet syndrome.

Mr Bicknell sees patients privately at The Harley Street Clinic, where he continues to provide expert care in vascular surgery. His areas of expertise encompass vascular surgery, arterial and venous conditions, vascular screening, and lifestyle management.

In addition to his clinical work, Mr Bicknell is actively involved in research. He has explored the advantages of robotic endovascular catheters in the vascular tree, leading to the world's first trials of vascular robotics in humans. His research interests also include examining methods to reduce errors in vascular surgery procedures, which has led to the initiation of a unique team training programme at Imperial College London. He has conducted several large-scale clinical trials in the field of aortic disease treatment.
