Dr Carr is the Medical Lead for The Lister Hospital's Critical Care Unit and former Head of Department at the Royal Marsden Hospital’s Intensive Care Unit. He has qualifications granted by the University of Dundee, The University of Glasgow and the Royal College of Anaesthetists. He undertook post-graduate training in Glasgow, Edinburgh and London and held academic posts with the University of Glasgow and University of London.

Dr Carr had been involved in commissioning several intensive care units over a 15 year period prior to working with HCA on the Lister CCU. His main clinical interests include renal replacement therapy and oscillatory ventilation. He also has a keen interest in management and is currently undertaking part-time studies at the Said Business School of the University of Oxford.
