Mr Damir Kosutic is an internationally acclaimed Consultant Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon. He is an expert in lymphoedema microsurgery, natural tissue breast reconstruction (DIEP flap), sarcoma, and advanced skin cancer reconstruction. He is the only plastic surgeon in the UK trained in lymphoedema microsurgery by Prof. Cheng and Prof. Masia, pioneers in this field from Taiwan and Barcelona. He is also one of the few UK-practicing plastic surgery consultants who is a full member of the World Society for Reconstructive Microsurgery (WSRM) and EURAPS (European Association of Plastic Surgeons).
Mr Kosutic completed prestigious fellowships in breast reconstruction and perforator flaps with pioneers in this field. He has published key papers on significant advances in microsurgical breast reconstruction, particularly the use of CT angiogram and MRI for planning perforator flaps to improve surgical outcomes for women undergoing breast reconstruction. He is affiliated with The Princess Grace Hospital in London and The Christie Private Care in Manchester.
His areas of expertise include lymphoedema microsurgery, natural tissue breast reconstruction, penile reconstruction, and migraine headache treatment. Mr Kosutic has been practising since 2010 and holds qualifications such as FRCS (Plast) from the Royal College of Surgeons of England and a PhD from the University of Maribor School of Medicine, Slovenia. He is a member of several professional bodies, including the British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons (BAPRAS) and the General Medical Council (GMC).
