Dan Henderson is a leading breast oncologist at the HCA Harborne Hospital in Birmingham, with extensive experience of integrating chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapy, and radiotherapy with surgery to obtain the best possible treatment outcomes for women affected by breast cancer.
During his specialist training at the Royal Marsden Hospital in London, Dan undertook research in advanced approaches to radiotherapy. Since moving to University Hospitals Birmingham, he has been the principal investigator on national and international clinical trials of new approaches.
Dan is chair of the Birmingham Breast Group’s private multidisciplinary team – a group of dedicated breast cancer specialists across the Midlands who work together to coordinate best-in-class breast cancer care. He is particularly interested in the development of personalised treatment plans that cater to the unique needs of each patient.
Appointed in 2017, Dan has a BM (distinction) from the University of Southampton, BSc (Hons), MRCP, FRCR, and MD(Res). His areas of expertise include breast cancer surgery, advanced radiotherapy techniques, and the integration of novel therapies. He is committed to advancing breast cancer treatment through both clinical practice and research.
