Prof. Daniel Sifrim is a distinguished medical specialist in the field of gastroenterology. He completed his medical training at Buenos Aires University, Argentina, in 1979. Following this, he pursued further training in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology at Posadas General Hospital in Buenos Aires.

In 1990, Prof. Sifrim moved to Belgium to specialise in gastrointestinal motility. He became a research fellow at the Centre for Gastroenterological Research at the University of Leuven, where he earned his PhD in 1994. From 1994 to 2008, he advanced his clinical research and academic career in Belgium, eventually being appointed as an Associate Professor and later a full Professor of Medicine at the University of Leuven.

Recently, Prof. Sifrim has been appointed as a Professor of Gastrointestinal Physiology at Bart's and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry at Queen Mary, University of London. His clinical interests encompass General Gastroenterology, Neurogastroenterology, Oesophageal disorders, Gastro-oesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD), and Functional GI Disorders.

Prof. Sifrim is highly skilled in a range of medical tests and treatments, including flexible sigmoidoscopy. He is dedicated to treating conditions such as oesophageal disorders, reflux disease, and various functional gastrointestinal disorders.

Since his appointment in 2023, Prof. Sifrim has been committed to providing exceptional care and advancing the field of gastroenterology through both his clinical practice and academic contributions.
