David trained in Medicine at Southampton before undertaking a clinical fellowship in Toronto. He came to University College London Hospitals (UCLH) in 2001 to undertake a period of research and completed both his Anaesthesia and Intensive Care Medicine training in London. As Honorary Senior Lecturer at UCL he now directs the development of a new Masters programme in Perioperative Medicine. David is an Associate editor of the British Journal of Hospital Medicine and practices Anaesthesia & Intensive Care Medicine at UCLH. David co-directs the Princess Grace Intensive Care Unit and with his co-director David Howell, now oversees a nine-bed state of the art Intensive Care unit.
