Year qualified: 1991

Place of primary qualification: Calcutta

Ms Deepa Bose is a distinguished orthopaedic trauma and limb reconstruction specialist, affiliated with the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham since 2009. She also practices at the Priory Hospital. Ms Bose exclusively treats adult patients, focusing her expertise on acute fractures of the forearm, wrist, and lower legs, as well as fractures around the hip, knee, and ankle joints. She is highly skilled in managing non-union and malunion fractures, and has extensive experience in treating osteomyelitis (bone infection).

Ms Bose completed her medical qualification from the University of Calcutta in 1990. She then pursued further training in the UK, successfully passing the FRCS examination from the Royal College of Surgeons of England. She entered the Welsh regional training programme in trauma and orthopaedics, and in 2000, earned her Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (Trauma and Orthopaedics). Ms Bose further honed her skills with subspecialist training in bone infection and limb reconstruction at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre in Oxford, which houses the UK's only dedicated bone infection unit.

In addition to her clinical work, Ms Bose is deeply committed to medical education. She completed an MSc in Medical Education from Cardiff University in 2010. She has served as the regional training programme director for core surgery in the West Midlands and currently holds the position of Vice Chair of the Specialist Advisory Committee for Trauma and Orthopaedics. In this role, she is responsible for curriculum development and the assessment of doctors undergoing specialized orthopaedic training across the United Kingdom.

Ms Bose's dedication to her field and her patients is evident in her comprehensive approach to orthopaedic trauma and limb reconstruction, making her a leading specialist in her area of expertise.
