Mr Demetri Panayi is a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist and Urogynaecology Subspecialist, currently serving as the Lead Urogynaecologist at Epsom and St Helier Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Mr Panayi brings extensive experience in the field of urogynaecology, specialising in both medical and surgical management of pelvic pain and pelvic floor problems.

Mr Panayi's areas of expertise include the treatment of urinary incontinence in women, prolapse of the uterus and vagina, bladder and vaginal pain, repeated urinary infections, cystitis, interstitial cystitis, and childbirth injuries such as anal sphincter injury. He is also skilled in addressing vaginal, perineal, and labial distortion, heavy periods, as well as menopause and postmenopausal issues.

After graduating from Imperial College Medical School in London, Mr Panayi pursued general obstetrics and gynaecology training in southwest London. He later returned to Imperial College for higher subspecialty training in urogynaecology, further honing his skills and knowledge in this specialised field.

At St Helier Hospital, Mr Panayi leads the perineal clinic service, dedicated to assessing and treating women who have sustained serious childbirth injuries. His research interests focus on ultrasound imaging of the lower urinary tract and urodynamics assessment. He has published extensively in the field of urogynaecology and is frequently invited to present his findings at national and international scientific meetings.
