Mr Domenico Valenti is a consultant vascular surgeon and honorary senior lecturer at King's College Hospital NHS Trust. He was appointed to his current role in 2007, following his tenure as a junior consultant vascular surgeon at Mauriziano Hospital in Turin, Italy.
Mr Valenti is highly experienced in all types of vascular surgery. His expertise includes carotid surgery, aortic aneurysm repair (both open and endovascular), lower limb reconstructive surgery, varicose vein surgery (open and radiofrequency ablation VNUS), and vascular access for haemodialysis. He is recognised as one of the leading surgeons in the UK for carotid endarterectomy, both in terms of volume and patient outcomes, including mortality and morbidity rates.
He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England and Edinburgh, as well as the European Board of Vascular Surgery. Additionally, he is a member of the Council Section of Surgery at the Royal Society of Medicine. Mr Valenti is deeply committed to medical education, serving as an examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons of England and regularly teaching at King's, Guy's, and St Thomas' Medical Schools. He has authored and co-authored numerous peer-reviewed scientific articles published both nationally and internationally.
Mr Valenti's areas of expertise include endoscopic vein surgery, varicose veins surgery, carotid endarterectomy, diabetic foot care, and abdominal aortic aneurysm repair. He treats a range of conditions such as abdominal aneurysms, carotid artery disease, aortic aneurysms, and varicose veins.
Since his appointment in 2007, Mr Valenti has been dedicated to providing exceptional care and advancing the field of vascular surgery through both his clinical practice and academic contributions.
