About Mr Edward Yates

Mr Edward Yates is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in hip surgery, based in Manchester and Cheshire. He has a particular interest in arthroplasty, including both complex primary surgery and revision arthroplasty.
Mr Yates studied Medicine at the University of Aberdeen before returning to the North West of England upon qualification. He completed his specialist orthopaedic training in the North West and has a strong interest in research and training. In 2013, he was honoured with the North West Trainee of the Year award.
Mr Yates was competitively awarded the prestigious Cavendish Hip Fellowship in Sheffield, where he gained extensive experience in complex hip and knee surgeries, including reconstructions following multiple surgeries and infections. He has also undertaken several visits to international centres and regularly attends national and international conferences focusing on advances in hip surgery, patient safety, and enhanced recovery. He has been invited to lecture at both regional and international meetings.
As a member of the national Orthopaedic Data Evaluation Panel, Mr Yates is involved in the assessment and scrutiny of hip and knee prostheses. He utilises this knowledge to ensure his patients receive the optimum procedures tailored to their needs.
Mr Yates lives in Cheshire with his wife and young sons. In his spare time, he enjoys playing snooker, golf, and tennis.
