Miss Effie Katsarma is a Consultant Plastic, Reconstructive, and Hand Surgeon based at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital. She also performs private work at the Lister Hospital, Chelsea Outpatient Centre, and Sydney Street Outpatients and Diagnostic Centre.

After graduating from the Aristotle University of Medicine in Greece in 1989, she moved to the UK and began her plastic surgery training at Mount Vernon Hospital, Northwood, Middlesex. Following this, she completed further training at St Andrews Hospital, Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital, University College Hospital, and the Royal Free in London. After completing her training, she undertook an 18-month clinical fellowship at the Christine Kleinert Institute in the USA, where she gained extensive experience in microsurgery and hand surgery. Whilst in the United States, she became a member of the USA Hand Transplant Team and assisted with the second hand transplant in Louisville, Kentucky. In 2001, she was appointed as a Consultant Plastic Surgeon at Chelsea & Westminster Hospital.

Miss Katsarma specialises in a wide range of procedures including abdominal surgery, body contouring, botulinum therapy, breast augmentation, hand surgery, and wrist surgery. She is highly skilled in treating conditions such as carpal tunnel syndrome, finger injuries, hand deformities, hand injuries, and trigger finger.
