Ms Emma Foster is a consultant urological surgeon with over 16 years of experience, practising at HCA UK at The Wilmslow Hospital and holding a consultant post at Salford Royal since 2018. She graduated from the University of Bristol Medical School in 2009 and went on to complete core surgical training in the West Midlands before entering urology specialist training in the North West Deanery. She earned her FRCS (Urol) in 2017.

Her specialist interests include functional urology, neuro-urology, reconstructive urology, female urology, and core urology. She leads the North West Urology Sacroneuromodulation service.

Away from the operating theatre, she is consultant lead for clinical audit and governance within her department, with a strong focus on quality improvement initiatives. She actively engages in medical education—teaching, supervising placements, assessing, and offering pastoral support to medical students, as well as contributing to postgraduate education for junior doctors and allied professionals. She holds postgraduate certificates in medical education and medical leadership.

Her subspecialties span general urology, female functional urology, incontinence, neuro-urology, and reconstructive urology. She performs a broad range of procedures including cystoscopy, bladder injections and instillations, circumcision, day-case surgery, frenuloplasty, sacral nerve stimulation, urethral bulking agent injections, urodynamics, and other urological surgeries. She treats a variety of conditions such as bladder pain, overactive bladder, urinary tract infections, cystitis, interstitial cystitis, foreskin and scrotal conditions, nocturia, phimosis, urinary incontinence, and urinary retention.
