Mr Felipe Dhawahir-Scala is a specialist consultant in ophthalmology and vitreoretinal surgery, currently practising in both Manchester and Central London. He qualified in Madrid, Spain, and subsequently undertook training as an ophthalmologist in England. This extensive training has broadened his expertise in various areas of ophthalmology, including retinal surgery (retinal detachment), floaters, simple and complex cataract surgery, age-related macular degeneration, and many other retinal conditions, such as acute and longstanding ocular trauma.

Mr Dhawahir-Scala is also recognised as the director of acute ophthalmic services at the prestigious Manchester Royal Eye Hospital. With his extensive knowledge of ophthalmology, he has become a prolific contributor to the field, introducing new technologies within the UK and abroad. In addition to his role as a consultant, he is actively involved in teaching and research. He has published several scientific papers and has presented his research at both national and international conferences.

Mr Felipe Dhawahir-Scala is a founding member and vice-president of the British Eye Emergency Society (BEECS). He also serves as an examiner at the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow, where he examines doctors from around the world who are seeking to achieve high qualifications in ophthalmology. Fluent in Arabic, English, and Spanish, Mr Dhawahir-Scala effectively breaks language barriers, ensuring his patients have a clear understanding of their conditions.
