Dr Florian Wernig is a Consultant Endocrinologist at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust and a Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer at Imperial College. He is experienced in all aspects of endocrinology but has a particular interest in neuroendocrine tumours, thyroid cancer and pituitary and adrenal disorders. He remains actively involved in research and is the principal investigator for several international multicentre clinical trials.

After qualifying in medicine from the University of Innsbruck, Austria, in 2000, Dr Wernig completed his MD in molecular endocrinology at the Austrian Academy of Sciences and carried out further research at St George's University of London. His postgraduate training was in endocrinology and general internal medicine in London on the Imperial/Hammersmith rotation. He is a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians, a member of the Endocrine Society, the British Society of Endocrinology and the European Society for Endocrinology.

Fluent in English, Italian, French and German, Dr Wernig practices at Charing Cross Hospital, Hammersmith Hospital, The London Clinic, HCA Sydney Street and BUPA Cromwell Hospital.
