Dr Kanaganayagam is a distinguished cardiologist and honorary senior lecturer in cardiology for Imperial and Chelsea and Westminster NHS Trusts. He also offers private consultations.

Dr Kanaganayagam specialises in diagnosing and treating a wide range of cardiovascular conditions. He sees patients with complaints of chest pain, breathlessness, palpitations, dizziness, and leg swelling. He is adept at managing known coronary disease, valve disease, arrhythmias, and heart failure. Additionally, he treats common conditions such as hypertension and high cholesterol.

As the Lead for Cardiology Imaging at Chelsea and Westminster Hospitals, Dr Kanaganayagam has extensive expertise in CT coronary angiography (with calcium score), stress echocardiography, transoesophageal echocardiography, and cardiac MRIs. He utilises these advanced imaging techniques to thoroughly investigate and treat his patients, and he also performs these procedures for other heart specialists to aid in the management of their patients.

Dr Kanaganayagam has also served as the Lead for a Community Heart Failure service at Imperial, where he continues to manage patients with both reduced and preserved systolic function (HFPEF and HFREF). His comprehensive approach ensures that patients receive the most appropriate and effective care.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr Kanaganayagam is actively involved in original cardiovascular research. He has authored review articles and delivered lectures on cardiac CT, echocardiography, and cardiac MRI, contributing significantly to the field of cardiology.
